Privacy policy

Last updated: August 26, 2026

This template privacy policy is provided as a starting point for FamilyFund and should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before use in production, especially regarding jurisdiction-specific requirements (e.g. GDPR, CCPA).

1. Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you use a group, we store the financial records you and your group members enter — contributions, expenses, categories, and receipts you choose to upload. We also keep an activity log of actions taken within your groups for transparency and accountability among members.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to operate the service: authenticating you, displaying your groups’ records, calculating balances and reports, sending notifications you’ve opted into, and processing subscription payments through Stripe. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Data isolation between groups

Every group’s financial records are isolated at the database level. Only members you invite — and who accept — can see a group’s contributions, expenses, and reports. Group owners and admins can see records within their own groups; they cannot see records from groups they do not belong to.

4. Data retention and deletion

You can delete a group at any time as its owner, which permanently removes its records. You can delete your account by contacting support. We retain activity logs for the lifetime of a group to preserve an accurate audit trail for its members.

5. Third-party services

We use Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage, and Stripe for subscription billing. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.

6. Contact
